Dr. Appointments...

This is the last week of the 1st trimester and I am hoping it will take the nausea and vomiting with it. As you can tell from the picture we are tired, thanks to the constant all day sickness. We had a physical this with Dr. H all is well except for a UTI. So I am starting an antibiotic to clear that up. Later in the week we went to our high risk ob for 1st trimester screening.  This tests for down's syndrome and spina bifida. It is non-invasive and consisted of and ultrasound and finger stick. Everything came back normal. However, we did found out something new as it seems we do with every ultrasound.  Much to my husband's relief it was not that we are having triplets (anyone seen the Slate card commercial), he was a little wary that we might discover more babies like last time, rather that our twins are identical.  Identical either 2 boys of 2 girls, how exciting. With this comes a whole new set of possible complications but we are trusting in the One who is forming these precious babies in my womb. I am so thankful that through prayer I can let go of all the fears that plague me.

The Secret is Out...

(Bob and I at the announcement dinner)
The secret is officially out we told both sets of families on Saturday October 2. Bob and I arrived in town and met both of our families at Blackbeard's. The restaurant choice was mine and not a very good one being that I was car sick the whole way down and it is a seafood place. Despite the nausea I was able to eat and enjoy dinner. I spent months thinking how I was going to tell them and Bob really wanted to tell everyone together.  Back in September I found really cute grandparent-to-be cards around Grandparents Day so I got one for each grandparent and great grandparent. We arrived at dinner and not to long after sitting down we gave the cards out. I would not have traded the expressions on their face for anything it was totally worth waiting to tell them. The card did not mention one little detail, that we were having twins. So as the shock began to settle a little I pulled a frame from my purse that said "Thanks heaven for little babies" and it held a picture of our sonogram of the twins. They were stunned!
We had such a great night that night. Later on we told my grandfather and Bob's grandmother the good news since they were unable to join us for dinner. Everyone is excited and these babies are going to have one of the best families in the world!

Big Announcement

We are headed to Georgia tomorrow and will be making our big announcement. I have played the scenario over and over in my head and have no clue how my family will react. I am so excited and yet stil nervous. This will be the first grandchild or should I say grandchildren on each side! I can not wait to see their faces, I am so excited to FINALLY tell them. Honestly, I can not believe I have kept it a secret this long. Oh my goodness tomorrow can not get here soon enough!!!
