Nursery Inspiration...

I have always wanted to plan a nursery and that is one of the reason I really wanted to find out the gender of our sweet babies. I have bookmarked a lot of nursery ideas and inspiration websites. After we found out they were boys I really began looking for nursery ideas. Bob and I have different tastes so this has been a challenge. When I first found out I was pregnant I would go to the Pottery Barn Kids store and gush over the beautiful nursery bedding whenever I  had the chance. I fell in love with Eli's Elephants and believe it or not my husband likes it as well. After hours of searching through thousand of catalogs and websites it is still my favorite nursery bedding.

 This is my dream nursery
I love the blues and greens and of course the adorable elephants! The little mobile is too cute. My only problem is the retired the curtains and valence so I will need to try to find a gently used set or a different kind to match.
These are a few ideas I found from others who have used this bedding. I love the light blue on the walls and the tree mural.

I also found some cute nursery accessories on Esty

Is it not the cutest! I think it would make the perfect nursery!

20 Weeks Ultrasound...

We had our biweekly ultrasound today at the high risk OB office. I guess we are kind of lucky we get to see our babies every two weeks. Why do we get ultrasounds every two weeks you may ask? Well our twins are identical which means they share one placenta. The key word is share. Biweekly we have an ultrasound to measure the amniotic fluid and size of each baby. The thing we are monitoring for is if the babies are sharing appropriately (the is a disorder called Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome). This basically is were one baby does not share very well gets really big leading to the other not growing along with a multitude of other problems.
So far are babies are doing great and this week was no different. Both babies are growing appropriately and they have the appropriate amount of fluid. It is always a relief to see them. I am thanking God for such healthy babies! We got some new pictures today!
My favorites are of their sweet little profiles.

They are so precious!

Back to my OB.....

This is a week of doctor appointments. Today I went to my regular OB and Wednesday is our biweekly ultrasound. This morning I went to the see Dr. M. I have gained 3 pounds this past month but ironically still weigh less than my pre-pregnancy weight thanks to losing about 12 pounds during the first trimester. I still feel huge. Of course we took measurements and at 20 weeks I am measuring about 23-24 weeks. The boy heart rates were great although they would not stay still! During my exam my Dr. M mentioned that I would be needing to slow down even with the light duty I am on.  She said we needed to prepare ourselves for the dreaded "B" word. Not exactly what we were hoping to hear. She said nothing to change right now but to be prepared. We were hoping to avoid bedrest and still praying that it will not be anytime soon or at all. She also increased my visits from monthly to every  two weeks. So now we will be seeing the regular and high-risk doctors biweekly. Today has not been my favorite day because along with the "B" word, I am just not feeling so great. I am so exhausted from everything and nothing. I was hoping for the burst of energy you are supposed to get in your second trimester but that seems to not be happening.

Willow Tree....

As an early Christmas gift my parents got us something very sweet.  You see I absolutely love Willow Tree. They are beautiful pieces. One of my most treasured pieces is the Willow Tree cake topper I found for our wedding. While my mom was here for a visit this weekend she gave us our new treasured Willow Tree pieces. It is called Two Together: Love in Abundance and it is a set of twin figurines. They are absolutely precious and even look like boys.

They are precious don't you think. Thanks Mom and Dad we love them!

Sweet Baby Names...

We have looked at thousands of baby names. Honestly if we were having girls we would have names all set but from the beginning we have always struggled with boy names. After much, much debate we have finally settled on names. I think it was even harder having to come up with two different names.
This was a difficult task you have to really think about the names. These babies will grow up so you don't want to give them a cute name now that when they get older it looks ridiculous on a job application. We both really wanted to use family names. We also wanted something unique for each of the boys.
So without further ado here are the names we have decided on:
James Sidney Adams
and
Jackson Esker Adams
Each name represents each our families.
James Sidney: James is is Bob's first name and Sidney is Bob's dad's middle names.
Jackson Esker: Jackson is my great-grandfather's middle name on my mom's side, and Esker is my great grandfather's middle name on my Dad's side.
I am beyond excited now I can start embroidering and put names to each of the cute profile shots we have from the ultrasound! I also love that we are able to specifically pray for each baby by name.

Pink or Blue?

It is finally here the week we have been waiting for! This Wednesday, which is also my sweet husband's birthday, we will find out what are having. When you find out you are pregnant almost the first thought is whether you are having a boy or girl. In fact beside asking when your due date is everyone wants to know what you are having. The first question is to find out or not to find out?  Since finding out we are having identical twins I think there have been enough surprises thus far so we are definitely going to find out the sex. We have gone through the old wives tales, chinese lunar calendar, and when our moms were here we did the string test.
Here are some of the results of those myths:
Terrible Morning Sickness: Girls
Sleep Position: Boys
Soft Hands: Girls
Craving Sweets: Girls
Adult Acne: Girls
Clumsy: Boys
Moody: Girls
The String (Pendulum) Test: Boys
Baby's heartbeats above 150: Girls
Chinese Lunar Calendar: Girls

I think they are boys and Bob thinks we are having girls
Who knows as fun as the wives tales and such are I am so ready for Wednesday! Since they are identical we just need one to cooperate with the ultrasound technician.
So pink or blue what do you think?
Post a comment with your thoughts or take part in our poll on the top right of this page. Then stay tuned for our announcement. Either way we are beyond excited boys or girls!

Thankful...

On this Thanksgiving morning there is so much to be thankful for. I am so thankful that God has chosen us to be parents. I have dreamed of being a mommy my whole life and now as I am on this wonderful journey. Despite the not so fun side effects of pregnancy and shots I know that it will all be a passing memory when I have my two little ones in my arms. I am honored, thankful, and blessed to be carrying our sweet twins. I am also thankful that we have had a healthy pregnancy thus far.  I am thankful for my wonderful team of doctors, supportive family, and friends. It is hard to believe that this time next year we will have two little ones with us and they may be even crawling around by then! Thank you Lord for all the blessings on our family this year and the ones to come. Happy Thanksgiving to my little jellybeans, Daddy and I can not wait to meet you both!

Maternity Clothes: A mix, more and more maternity clothing is showing up in my daily outfits

Everything looked good at our monthly check up. I am measuring at 18-19 weeks which is normal to measure bigger for twins. Boy, can I feel the great stretch. It gets a little painful sometimes in all honesty. The twins had strong heartbeats this week around 155 and were moving all over the place.

An Amazing Gift

We are so blessed. Bob and I have the best parents ever! Together with Nana they us gave everything thing we could possibly need furniture wise in the nursery. We are so thankful and excited. The twins are beyond blessed to have such wonderful grandparents. The bought us two cribs and dresser. Then Nana got us the matching changing table. Did I mention we are beyond excited! We ordered the furniture in a beautiful expresso color from Babies"R"Us.  The cribs are lifetime cribs which means they are cribs, toddler beds, and then full size beds. Here are a few pictures of our new nursery furniture that they ordered:

I can not wait to find out the gender so we can pick out fabrics and nursery colors!

On a side note Nana fell while she was here to visit and had surgery. She is recovering now but will be spending a few weeks with us. Turns out she will get to go to our gender ultrasound after all.

Our 1st Diapers...

My mom (who will be MiMi), Nana, and mother-in-law (who will be Grandma) came up for a visit this weekend. We thought that this Monday we would be finding out what the gender of the twins are but the are still to small to see. They have rescheduled the gender ultrasound for December 1st, which is also Bob's birthday.  We really are enjoying our time with our families. Tonight we all went to Babies"R"Us and Bob's mom (Grandma) bought us our first pack of diapers. I know this will be the first of many diaper boxes we will go through! Thanks Grandma! I can't believe that we are almost halfway through our pregnancy since twins are considered full term at 37 weeks.
